These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website and services provided by Handydads Construction Inc. ("Handydads," "we," "us," or "our"), a California licensed general contractor (License #1073709). By using our website or engaging our services, you agree to these Terms in full.

1. Services Overview

Handydads provides residential and commercial handyman services, home repair, and general contracting. Services include but are not limited to: plumbing repairs, electrical work, carpentry, painting, maintenance, kitchen and bathroom remodeling, flooring, and other home improvement tasks. All work is performed by or under the supervision of licensed, bonded, and insured professionals.

2. Estimates & Pricing

  • Estimates generated through our online estimator tool are approximate and based on standard labor hours at our published hourly rate.
  • Actual costs may vary based on job complexity, material requirements, accessibility, code compliance, and other factors discovered during the work.
  • General contracting projects (remodels, renovations) require a formal consultation and written proposal before work begins.
  • We reserve the right to adjust pricing with notice. Final pricing will be confirmed before work commences.

3. Deposits & Payments

  • Deposits: A deposit is required prior to scheduling most services. Deposit amounts are calculated as a percentage of the estimated total and are disclosed at the time of booking.
  • Payment Processing: All payments are processed securely through Stripe. We accept major credit and debit cards.
  • Balance Due: The remaining balance is due upon satisfactory completion of the work, as agreed during the job sign-off process.
  • Late Payments: Invoices not paid within 30 days of issuance may be subject to a late fee of 1.5% per month on the outstanding balance.
  • Refund Policy: Deposits are refundable if cancellation is made at least 48 hours before the scheduled service date. Refunds for completed work are handled on a case-by-case basis.

4. Subscription Services

Handydads offers a VIP subscription plan ("The Handyman Subscription") that provides recurring service hours at a discounted rate. By subscribing, you agree to:

  • Monthly billing at the published subscription rate via your saved payment method on Stripe
  • Subscription hours do not roll over from month to month unless otherwise specified
  • Additional hours may be purchased at the discounted subscriber rate
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle
  • No refunds are issued for partial months of service

5. Job Sign-Off & Customer Portal

  • Customers are provided access to a secure customer portal to review job details, sign off on proposed work, and manage their account.
  • An electronic signature is required to authorize work to proceed. By signing, you confirm that you have reviewed and approved the scope of work and estimated cost.
  • Change requests must be submitted through the customer portal or by contacting our office. Changes may affect pricing and scheduling.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

6. Scheduling & Cancellations

  • Service appointments are scheduled based on technician availability and geographic routing.
  • We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your preferred dates and times.
  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled service time may result in a cancellation fee.
  • Handydads reserves the right to reschedule appointments due to weather, safety concerns, or unforeseen circumstances. We will notify you promptly in such cases.

7. Text Message Communications

By providing your phone number and consenting to receive text messages, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • You may receive automated text messages (SMS/MMS) regarding appointment confirmations, reminders, job status updates, payment confirmations, and customer portal access links.
  • If you opt in to marketing messages, you may also receive promotional offers and service recommendations.
  • Message frequency varies based on your service activity.
  • Standard message and data rates from your wireless carrier may apply.
  • You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for assistance.
  • Consent to receive text messages is not required as a condition of purchasing any goods or services.
  • We will not share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes.
  • Neither Handydads nor your wireless carrier is liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

8. Warranty & Guarantee

  • Handydads stands behind the quality of our workmanship. If you are not satisfied with completed work, contact us within 30 days and we will return to address the issue at no additional cost.
  • This warranty covers labor only and does not extend to customer-supplied materials, pre-existing conditions, or damage caused by third parties.
  • General contracting projects may carry specific warranty terms detailed in the project contract.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by California law:

  • Handydads' total liability for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
  • We are not liable for damages arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to weather events, supply chain disruptions, or utility outages.
  • We are not responsible for pre-existing conditions or code violations discovered during the course of work.

10. Property Access & Customer Responsibilities

  • You agree to provide our technicians with safe, reasonable access to the work area on the scheduled date.
  • You are responsible for securing valuables, pets, and personal property in work areas.
  • You must disclose known hazards, including but not limited to: asbestos, lead paint, mold, or structural concerns.
  • If additional work or code-required upgrades are discovered during a job, we will notify you and obtain approval before proceeding.

11. Intellectual Property

All content on the Handydads website — including text, images, graphics, logos, and software — is the property of Handydads Construction Inc. and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.

12. User Accounts

  • You may be required to create an account to access certain features of our website, including the customer portal and estimator tool.
  • You agree to provide accurate, current information during registration and to keep your account information up to date.
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

13. Dispute Resolution

  • We hope to resolve any disputes informally. If you have a concern, please contact us first at (925) 587-3237 or info@handydadsconstruction.com.
  • Any disputes that cannot be resolved informally shall be governed by the laws of the State of California and resolved in the courts of Contra Costa County, California.
  • Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) or other regulatory agencies.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Handydads, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of our services.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of our website or services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
